Hey, Reader!

I don't think it's any surprise that Moscow mules are a fan favorite. They are one of my top requested recipes and everyone goes crazy for the many variations.

Plus, mules have no season. They're refreshing in the summer, spicy enough to warm you in the winter and absolutely delicious every day of the year. There's even the champagne mule to celebrate a special occasion!

Mules are a perfect option for at-home bartenders because:

  1. They're easy to make, with the classic calling for just 3 ingredients.
  2. They're easy to customize. Prefer it a little sweeter? Need more spice? Can do!
  3. They're basically magic — adding a little muddled fruit or swapping the spirit transforms them into a totally new drink!

Whether you already love mules or need a nudge in the right direction, here are the recipes you need to try.

classic moscow mule

The classic recipe hits every time. With sweet and spicy ginger beer and a touch of zesty lime juice plus vodka, you really can't go wrong here.

apple cider moscow mule

Light and festive, this drink was made for fall sipping! I love the combo of bright, crisp apple flavor and spicy ginger beer — it's like autumn in a mug.

mexican mule

Take your sipper south of the border with ginger beer, lime and your favorite mezcal or tequila. It’s gingery, citrusy, smoky and spicy — everything a good tequila cocktail should be!

blueberry mule

Fruit is an easy way to change up the classic mule recipe. Blueberries add a touch of color and sweetness, but why stop there? You can use your favorite fruit for a fun twist.

kentucky mule

The Kentucky mule may just be one of my favorite mule variations. With the tangy taste of lime juice, bubbly texture of ginger soda, and smooth flavor of bourbon it’s just the best!

You can use zero-proof spirits or skip the alcohol entirely to transform any of these recipes into a virgin mule. Since there's plenty of flavor, you won't miss the booze! Make it a party by serving some Moscow mule jello shots or mule cookies (complete with vodka-lime frosting). They pack all the flavors of the drink into a fun vessel everyone will love!

Hopefully you're convinced that a mule is just the spice you need in your life!

easy, elegant entertaining Hey, Reader! When it comes to wine, there are a lot of choices. White, red, rosé, sparkling... it can be a lot. Plus, where cocktails can go with almost anything, some wines pair better with foods than others. Luckily, you don't have to choose between these types of booze. When you blend these two worlds — literally — by making wine cocktails, it's a win-win. Thanks to their fruit base, wines provide a range of fruity flavors that make for some very tasty drinks....

easy, elegant entertaining Hey, Reader! I'm of the opinion that there are a few drinks every at-home bartender should have under their belt, and the classic mojito is one of them. It's easy to mix up and always a crowd pleaser. Rum, lime juice and fresh mint are a compelling combination that's delicious and refreshing; you can even opt for a virgin version so everyone can enjoy the flavors without the booze. The mojito also plays well with others — flavors that is! Fruit is an easy add-in...

easy, elegant entertaining Hey, Reader! If you couldn't tell, I love a good seasonal drink. Even pumpkin spice has its place — but in the appropriate season. No need to start in August. The farmers market is my happy place; finding the freshest produce and using it to create a menu full of flavor brings me so much joy! There’s something especially magical about a summer cocktail that’s made with what’s fresh and in season. Juicy berries. Fragrant basil. A splash of citrus to wake everything...
