Hey, Reader!
A holiday weekend brings with it plenty of hustle and bustle. From cookouts to camping to fireworks, there's plenty of ways to celebrate.
One thing that's non-negotiable is hydration. Sure, you could sip plain water, but where's the fun in that?!
Water is a refreshing, hydrating base thatβs easy to build on, which makes it the perfect party centerpiece. With a few fruits or herbs, it turns into something you actually want to sip.
start with the basics
The great thing about infused water is that you can use what you have on-hand. No need for special ingredients β just raid your fruit drawer and build from there. I used berries and apples, but you can use citrus, melons or something else.
add some pizzazz
For a holiday weekend, or even just a regular weekday, think about small ways you can dress up your drink. Star cookie cutters for my apple slices were the perfect touch for a patriotic pitcher! You could also add berry ice cubes as a colorful way to cool things down.
keep the fun going
If you have any leftover, you can enjoy it after your event has ended. Simply add extra water and store it in the fridge. The fruits will continue to infuse with their natural flavors. But, if you have included citrus make sure to remove them after a few hours because their rinds will begin to give off bitter flavors.
I hope this recipe quenches your thirst this weekend!
