Hey, Reader!
Strawberries are simply stunning. Rich, sweet and loaded with ruby color, they're a favorite around here, both in drinks and on the table.
When they're in season, they're especially hard to beat. I've tried my hand at growing them myself, but since the wildlife seems determine to enjoy them before me I'm content to pick some up fresh from the farmer's market.
Whether you muddle them, blend them or mix them into simple syrup, the sweet flavor of these juicy berries is unmatched.
If you have an abundance of berries, here's the recipes I would use them in:
strawberry bourbon smash
This strawberry bourbon smash is the perfect variation on the classic whiskey smash for summertime sipping. Itβs full of flavor and comes together in a snap!
strawberry lemon drop
The strawberry lemon drop is a sweet dessert martini bursting with berry flavor and a punch of citrus. Made with fresh lemon juice, vodka, simple syrup and orange liqueur, strawberries really take it to the next level.
kentucky buck
The rich warmth of whiskey with the zing of ginger beer, the sweetness of fresh berries and the tartness of fresh lemon juice combines into one tasty drink. A Kentucky buck is perfectly refreshing for warm weather and can be multiplied to serve a crowd!
strawberry mojito
These ruby-red cocktails contain muddled fresh mint and summer berries, along with simple syrup, lime juice and white rum for a tasty seasonal cocktail. Fresh mint pair beautifully with fresh berries.
strawberry mule
Sweet berries balance out tart lime and spicy ginger beer to make the strawberry mule a refreshing summer cocktail. Make it the traditional way with vodka or try it with your favorite spirit.
Still have more strawberries? There are plenty of other strawberry drinks to enjoy that star this sweet summer flavor!
Cheers!β
