Hey, Reader!
Happy National Martini Day! It's no wonder that this iconic cocktail has a day dedicated to it. From its origins in the 1800s to its iconic status today, the martini’s cultural significance and enduring appeal make this cocktail a great choice, time after time.
Classic martinis can be an acquired taste: they’re dry, not sweet, and have hints of herbs and citrus, thanks to the gin and orange bitters. I learned how to make them (and the many, many twists) in bartending school — but I wouldn’t drink one back then. Now, I'm an olive girlie all the way!
If you're not a fan yet either, there's hope for you yet! There are so many different twists, and these days the term "martini" stretches to just about anything in a martini glass, including many sweet sips. I hope you'll find one you love too!
