Hey, Reader!
While it’s only a minor holiday in Mexico, Cinco de Mayo* has become an observance of Mexican heritage and culture that is widely celebrated in the United States.
This day has all the makings of a perfect celebration: There are no gifting obligations, the weather is broaching beautiful summer days and one of my favorite spirits (tequila) takes a starring role. Plus, this year, it happens to be on Taco Tuesday — the best day of the week.
Whether you’re celebrating small or hosting a big fiesta, these recipes are sure to satisfy:
lemon margarita
With an extra punch of citrus thanks to lemon syrup, this cocktail is the perfect blend of sweet and sour. The result is a sip that’s bright, sunny and perfect for spring and summer!
classic margaritas
It's a classic for a reason — this combo of fresh lime juice and tequila hits all the right notes. Keep DIY mix and margarita salt on-hand to make whipping up one of these tasty drinks even easier.
virgin margaritas
Need something with no booze? No problem! Virgin margaritas are packed with sweet-tart lime flavor and taste almost like the real thing thanks to zero-proof tequila you can make at home. Try a sugar rim to sweeten the deal!
pineapple margaritas
This recipe gives a tropical twist to the classic recipe! It's full of summer flavors that make it the perfect sipper anytime you're craving a beach vacation — no plane ride needed.
cadillac margaritas
Take this top-shelf version of the margarita for a spin when you're in the mood for something elegant and delicious! Made with the highest quality ingredients you can find, they're the real deal for any occasion.
For any festivities that need an extra injection of fun, try making paloma or margarita jello shots. These boozy shooters are so much better than the jello shots of your past, harnessing all the flavors of the classic drinks in bite-size servings. Plus, get inspired to serve more than just salsa with these Cinco de Mayo recipes.
Salud!**

*Contrary to popular belief, today is not actually Mexico's Independence Day (that's Sept. 16). It actually commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862.
**Salud is a Spanish toast meaning "to your health."
