let's talk turkey day πŸ¦ƒ

easy, elegant entertaining

Hey, Reader!

With Halloween over, Thanksgiving will be here in what feels like 5 minutes and I'm getting so excited to celebrate!

The food menu is always the easy part to me β€” since a lot of it is steeped in tradition, it basically plans itself. But the drinks are where I like to mix it up!

There are so many fun fall recipes that can enhance every gathering, from Friendsgiving to Thanksgiving to Black Friday brunch (which should totally it's own holiday). I've rounded up 5 favorites below, but if you need more inspiration here are 30 Thanksgiving cocktails to check out!

It's also the season to support small businesses. I like to support fellow bloggers by making their recipes over the big sites and magazines. (Enjoying the tasty results is a definite benefit too).

There's one thing you can do to support food bloggers that doesn't cost you a dime β€” rate our recipes after you make them, and leave a review. Give it 5 stars (or whatever you think it deserves!) β€” this is hugely helpful because sites like Google use this rating to decide if it's a good recipe to show in search results. Thank you! πŸ’›

apple cider mojito

This may be my new favorite mash-up, with so much flavor packed into one glass! You get cozy sweetness from the cider, plus refreshing citrus and mint that is just so tasty.

thanksgiving spa water

Fill up a pretty pitcher with water that's infused with fall fruits, herbs and spices. It's a lovely way to make hydration more fun and flavorful, and it makes a great centerpiece for the table

cranberry sauce old-fashioned

Leftovers? Mix your favorite bourbon with some cranberry sauce (or cranberry syrup if your sauce was super popular), burnt rosemary and fall-flavored bitters for a tasty nightcap.

pomegranate mimosa

Bubbly like a traditional mimosa with a festive fall color, pomegranate mimosas are a great way to start the day! Chill the bubbly and stock up on just a few ingredients, and you'll be ready to sip on this tasty recipe.

apple cider sangria

Who says you stop enjoying sangria when summer ends? Apple cider sangria is the cozy crowd-pleaser you didn't know you needed this holiday season! Apple cider, warm spices, white wine and sweet brandy give this pitcher drink warmth and plenty of flavor.

If you need some menu ideas, here's what would be on my list if I were hosting this year:

Plus some cheese & crackers to snack on while cooking!

Let me know if you end up making one of these recipes for your Thanksgiving celebration! I'd love to hear how it went.

Şerefe! (That means "cheers" in Turkish!)

Cheers!

Susannah

Green beer is great, but sometimes you just need something a little different to celebrate. Luckily, no one will pinch you if your drink isn't green. (Although there are plenty of options if you prefer a clover-hued cocktail.) My favorite St. Patrick's Day drink is simple: I like to sip on a little homemade Irish cream...
