Hey, Reader!
I love seeing everything bloom as the spring sets in! It brings some much needed color and brightness to the neighborhood after a long, dreary winter.
Floral notes can do the same thing to your drinks, bringing bright flavors and colors that reflect the season perfectly. Plus, it's an easy way to transform a classic cocktail into something fresh and fun! Here are some of my favorites:
hibiscus margarita
Real hibiscus flowers go into the hibiscus syrup that gives this drink its distinctive color and flavor. It's a great seasonal twist on the tequila favorite — and still pairs well with chips and salsa!
lillet spritz
The Lillet Spritz is made with Lillet Blanc, a bittersweet liqueur that’s also light and refreshing. When paired with tart lemon, fresh mint, bubbly Prosecco and zippy soda water, the result is an effervescent drink that you’re going to want to sip all season long.
rose champagne cocktail
It doesn't get much prettier in pink than this bubbly sipper! It tastes like a fragrant bouquet of flowers and is elegant enough for any spring celebration.
elderflower gin cocktail
This delicate drink exudes class and it's my go-to when it comes to a light and refreshing beverage. The beautiful floral flavor of elderflower pairs wonderfully with a dry gin and the tartness of fresh lemon juice.
french gimlet
Gin, elderflower liqueur, lime juice and a hint of sweetness make this classic cocktail is a must-try. It's perfect for anyone who is learning to love gin, since the sweetness and acidity of the other ingredients help to balance out the pungent gin.
The best part about these drinks? You don't need a green thumb to enjoy them!
Cheers!
