Hey, Reader!
Classic cocktails are classic for a reason. With timeless flavors and recipes that satisfy, it's great to have one or two in your repertoire.
When you need to make them work for all ages, or prefer to sip sans booze, you can substitute zero-proof spirits into the recipe. This easy swap proves that non-alcoholic drinks don't have to be childish!
These are a few of my favorite classic drink recipes in their non-alcoholic forms:
sunrise mocktail
Like the tequila sunrise but without the booze, the fruity Sunrise Mocktail tastes great with zero-proof tequila. It’s a great drink to sip on warm summer days or to channel warm weather vibes in wintertime! You'll love this no-alcoholic beverage that is loaded with flavor.
virgin mojito
Light and bright, the virgin mojito tastes just right! The classic sweet and sour flavors are balanced with fresh mint for an ultra-refreshing drink.
virgin strawberry daiquiri
A little sweet, a little sour and a lot delicious, the iconic fruity flavors of frozen daiquiris are all present and accounted for in this booze-free version. Swap in a zero-proof spirit or omit that ingredient entirely — the berries and lime juice are strong enough to stand on their own!
virgin white russian
This virgin white Russian is a delicious non-alcoholic twist on the classic! With zero-proof coffee liqueur, you can enjoy the luscious, creamy flavors of this traditional cocktail without the alcohol.
virgin mint julep
Zero-proof bourbon lends all of the bourbon flavor (and none of the alcohol) to this Derby day favorite! Mint and sugar round out the flavors in this cool cocktail turned mocktail.
Now you know that you don't have to rely on a boring drink when you want to go sans alcohol.
I hope you give one of these classic drinks a try — hit 'reply' and let me know how you think it measures up to the original!
Cheers!
